Who we are
AYEM is an association (under the French law of 1901) founded in 2010 by 11 4th-year students of ISTOM (Higher Education School of International Agro-Development). It is taken over each year by a new group of professional and dynamic students who carry out a Junior Expert Assignment (Mission Jeunes Experts or MJE in French) in a developing country.
What a MJE is
A Junior Expert Assigment (MJE in French) is a mission consisting of establishing or studying an expert project. It is carried out by a dozen fourth year students at ISTOM, Higher Education School of International Agro-Development (www.istom.com). Our wish is to work for a project promoting a sustainable and human development in the field of tropical agroecology. In order to undertake this, our team will work with you during one year, using all its motivations and skills.

Feasability, impact, promotion or detailed approach study... AYEM offers to you its services.
The longest work of the project precedes the mission and is divided into different tasks. We establish logistics, a planning, a methodology, tools, strategies in order to built a complete project that matches perfectly your expectations.
Following this upstream preparation, we work in the field for four to eight weeks. We are supported by a teacher and researcher from our school, during the whole project, to carry out our expert assignment.

AYEM 2015
As each year, a new students team dedicate itself to AYEM association in order to make an expert assignment project in a developing country, as their predecessors did. This year, AYEM would like to take part in a project related to agroecology.
Our vision of agroecology
We see agroecology as an intelligent and sustainable association between Humans and nature. Agroecology brings a farmer and his family to work, live and think in harmony with their environment in order to reach a good quality of life.
